Plovdiv, Bulgaria, A City with Beautiful Old Buildings

Although the capital city, Plovdiv is one of the most beautiful cities in Bulgaria. The city is filled with stunning old buildings. In addition, tourists can enjoy the lively nightlife of Bulgaria, while looking at the beauty of the Rhodope mountain behind the town.

Plovdiv será a Capital Europeia da Cultura em 2019, ao lado de Matera, Itália.

The history of Plovdiv dates back to 6000 years ago, much before Athens or Rome, which makes it one of the European cities that continuously inhabited for over time.

It is in the center of Plovdiv that you will find most of the roman ruins that exist in the city. In addition, all main streets are closed to traffic of cars, which makes the pleasant environment. There are various restaurants and shops in the area, which is a busy day and night.

What is the difference between the center and the Old Town? The hills. It so happens that the historic center is in part of the hills of the city. It is possible to walk between one and another, but you will have to climb the alleys with floor of gravel to reach attractions.

It is a very pleasant region: has no trade, only the monuments, as a Roman amphitheater and several typical houses from the 19th century, besides restaurants and hotels. The major fault (and also an excellent quality, depends on the point of view) is that by ali the movement of cars is prohibited. Which means having to load mala morro above on a level floor, very difficult.
