Learn about Malta: the Mediterranean paradise!

Is the dream destination if you want to exit the default and venturing in an exotic












Malta covers an area of land of 316 km², becoming one of the smaller countries of Europe, also possessing the third largest population density of the continent.




Situated in the heart of the Mediterranean, the Maltese archipelago consists of three islands, each one with its characteristics: Malta, the main, Gozo and Comino. The coast of Malta, deeply cropped, has many ports, bays and beaches. Despite the small size of these islands, are places where you can visit cultural remains of all periods of history, from the Stone Age up to the more recent past.

The weather conditions, ideals throughout the year, a sea with a transparency infinite, the excellent cuisine, art, culture and nautical activities make of Malta the ideal place for a pleasant stay and stunning views. Inhabited since around 5200. C., the country was the scene of important prehistoric civilisation prior to the arrival of the Phoenicians, which gave the main island Malat name, which means "safe harbor".

 Popeye Village (Vila Popeye), also known as Sweethaven Village, is the ideal place for a family with children go when you travel in Malta. No wonder it is one of the greatest tourist attractions of Malta! The theme of this thematic park Maltese is, of course, the entire universe of the films Popeye the Sailor. The Popeye Village is, in truth, the scenario used by Paramount Pictures and Walt Disney Productions for the film based on the comic book of E. C.

The island of Gozo is one of the islands which make up the archipelago, the second most important. Is located to the northwest of Malta and is known, also, by "island of Calipso", in homage to a nymph who lived here and who retained Ulysses during seven years. The landscape of this place is a wonderful green, speckled of old churches and small towns. The capital of Gozo is victory, situated in the center of the island, which offers some interesting places to be visited, among them, the citadel, the cathedral and the church of São Jorge.

The island of Comino is the smallest of the archipelago, with only 2.7 square kilometers. Living there few peasants, cars are not, nor any other noise that disturb the tranquility of the island. There is only one hotel, prepared for the practice of water sports, situated next to the beach. Comino account with numerous streets and rocks that work at sea, with a water as transparent as the crystal. It is a paradise for diving enthusiasts.
